How to Blog 101: Writing Killer Headlines


Thousands of blogs are out there, competition, as you may put it, is really stiff. If you want to start your WordPress Training and be successful at it, you have to make sure that you have creative headlines. Those are just a few words to capture your readers’ interest so you have to make them count!

Excellent headlines will lead people to read your blog; it might also lead to having other website owners utilizing your content to create traffic to their own sites.

You may stay with simple yet very effective headlines – the “Top 10 List” types of headlines never fail to generate readers’ interests, plus they are easy to understand and people will likely read your posts. It is always easy to write a “tips” article; you simply list down your 10 or 5 or whatever number of tips you opt to use, write a short explanation for each, create interesting introduction and conclusion and you’re done.

It is easy to learn how to blog, but you have to be passionate about it. Your readers will get to feel your passion for a certain topic by merely reading an interesting headline. The effective use of punctuation marks is one key to attracting reader’s attention. For example, using an exclamation mark will definitely draw any reader’s attention to read your blog. But remember not to use too many.

While it is not a great idea to use capital letters when writing blog headlines, strategically using them would be a good attention-grabber as using caps will make your post stand out among the others.

Try going into the negative angle of writing your headline. A negative connotation in your headline will surely create people’s curiosity that will lead to reading the entire post. A lot of people seem to be drawn more to something negative so explore along that line.

Give them an offer that they cannot refuse. This never fails. But make sure that you can deliver what you promised! You may write a headline promising your readers that by the time they are done reading your article, they would learned how to create the interesting headlines, make sure that they learn something about they are through with your article. If you are able to leverage this technique with using a negative slant, you’ll have a sure-fire hit!

A tried and tested technique is warning your readers about the early signs of something! This is commonly used with anti-aging and losing weight topics.
